AEQ technology for commentary audio at the 2016 Olympic Games
Over 1,100 AEQ OLYMPIA commentary units were deployed at the Rio de Janeiro Games, serving the majority of the 1,500 commentary positions set up by the Broadcast Organisation for audio production of all radio and television broadcasts worldwide. This marks the fourth time the AEQ OLYMPIA commentary system has been used at the Olympic Games.
Based on the BC2000D routing systems and with a total routing capacity of over 5,000 × 5,000 crosspoints, the system contains all the elements needed to interconnect all competition venues and the International Broadcast Centre via long-range MADI links over fibre networks.
