JP-News, the news network of Brazil's Jovem Pan Group, has upgraded its studio in Foz do Iguaçu with the installation of an AEQ CAPITOL IP digital audio console operated through AEQ VirtualCAPITOL, a configuration that replaces the traditional hardware control surface and enables full console operation from a standard PC.
Founded in 1944, Jovem Pan is one of Brazil's leading media groups. With a network of around 100 owned and affiliated radio stations, the company delivers a wide range of content including music, news, sports and television, making it one of the country's most influential broadcasters.
The technical renovation of the JP-News studio in Foz do Iguaçu included not only new broadcast equipment, but also updated furniture and IT systems. At the heart of the new installation is the AEQ CAPITOL IP digital audio console, a fixed-configuration solution designed for radio production environments that require reliability, flexibility and intuitive operation.
AEQ CAPITOL IP features an integrated IP audio engine and extensive analogue, digital and AoIP connectivity, making it suitable for both conventional broadcast facilities and next-generation IP-based infrastructures. Its robust design and ease of use have made it a popular choice for radio broadcasters around the world.
One of the most distinctive features of this project is the use of AEQ VirtualCAPITOL as the console's control interface. Instead of using a traditional hardware surface with physical faders, operators control every function of the console through software running on a PC, providing the full operational capabilities of CAPITOL IP while offering greater flexibility in studio configuration.
With this upgrade, JP-News has modernised its production infrastructure by adopting a digital mixing solution that combines the reliability of AEQ CAPITOL IP with the flexibility of fully virtual operation, supporting the evolving needs of today's broadcast workflows.
