Radio Ulcinj, the public local radio station serving the city of Ulcinj, Montenegro, has upgraded its main studio with the installation of an AEQ CAPITOL IP 12-fader digital console and AEQ StudioBox units. The project was carried out by SIPA, AEQ's distributor and systems integrator in the region.
With a long history of providing local news, information and cultural programming, the station has embraced this technological upgrade to enhance its daily operations with a more efficient, reliable and future-ready production environment.
AEQ CAPITOL IP is an ultra-compact digital mixing console for radio and television, specifically designed for on-air broadcast control. It includes all the essential features required in professional broadcast environments, such as automatic monitor muting, cough muting, fader start, signalling control, external equipment automation and intercom management. Its compact design and extensive internal routing capabilities make it suitable for a wide range of applications, including self-operated studios, control rooms, recording booths, outside broadcast units and large-scale broadcast installations.
The installation also includes AEQ StudioBox units, which transport up to seven control commands and two signalling functions between the studio and the console, facilitating microphone muting, pre-fade listening and other configurable operational functions.
After several weeks of operation, Radio Ulcinj Director Muzafer Čauši shared his experience with the new system:
